Help & guides
Step-by-step guides for the most important features — from installation through items, players, vehicles and the map to the floating window. At the bottom you will also find troubleshooting for the most common pitfalls.
Core principle: SEA is not a server mod. It operates the regular SCUM admin console for you — you click, SEA types the matching command straight into the game. Prerequisites: you are logged in as admin on the server and SCUM runs in borderless windowed mode. In singleplayer and co-op SEA works just the same — there you are admin automatically.
Installation, first start and the right connection to the game.
Grab the current setup via the download button and install it. Installation is per user and needs no admin rights. Updates arrive automatically afterwards.
On the setup's first start you may see "Windows protected your PC" (Microsoft Defender SmartScreen). That is normal and not a virus — SEA is a small, independent app and does not (yet) carry a paid Microsoft certificate, so Windows does not know the publisher. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway":
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.

If you would rather not take that on trust: the setup is also on Nexus Mods. Their moderation asked for the full source code and build instructions before clearing it, reviewed them, and approved the file — it is the same file you get here. That is not a substitute for a code signature, so the Windows prompt stays; but somebody independent has looked inside.
Just start SEA normally — no administrator rights required. Only if SCUM itself runs as administrator on your machine (e.g. via "Run as administrator" in the compatibility settings of SCUM.exe), enable Settings → System → "Start with elevated rights" in SEA — otherwise the game will not accept the keyboard input. SEA points this out in its title bar when it detects that case.
Set SCUM's graphics options to borderless window. SEA shows "SCUM found" in its title bar as soon as the game is running.
If you haven't yet: add your SteamID64 to your server's admin list — the file is called AdminUsers.ini (on some hosts ServerSettingsAdminUsers.ini) and is available right in the web interface of G-Portal, Nitrado & co. under the configuration files. Then restart the server. In singleplayer you can skip this step — you have admin rights automatically.
Log in in-game with your admin password (or use the "admin login" favorite). The server only accepts commands from an admin.
Done — you can now spawn items, manage players, teleport and more. Every click sends the matching chat command to SCUM.
Nothing arrives in-game? In 90 % of cases SCUM runs in true fullscreen instead of a borderless window — or SCUM runs as administrator while SEA does not. See troubleshooting.
Over 2,400 items, zombies, animals and NPCs with a single click.
Switch to the Items tab. The search grid shows every item with image and name.
Search by name or game_id at the top, or pick a category. For clothing you can additionally filter by subcategory.
Click an item and set the desired quantity. For magazines/stackable items you can also pass the stack size (e.g. rounds per magazine).
Click "Spawn" — SEA sends #SpawnItem with the right parameters. The item appears in front of you or in your inventory.
Live list, teleport, money/fame and moderation.
Players tab → "List Players". SEA sends the command and reads the list automatically via the clipboard — nothing to copy yourself.
Filter by name or SteamID using the search box.
Enter the desired value at the top and press "Set" — applies to the selected player.
Right-clicking a player opens the actions: teleport "to me" / "to them", god mode on/off, mute, kick, ban (incl. unban) and "save position as POI".
Every spawned vehicle with sector, ID and owner.
Vehicles tab → load the list. SCUM puts the complete vehicle list into the clipboard, SEA reads it in.
Use the owner dropdown to filter by all / online / offline / unowned, or narrow down by name, ID and owner via search.
Teleport to the vehicle, copy coordinates, rename or despawn it.
For offline-parked vehicles SCUM only provides a database ID, not a display name — the owner cannot be resolved by name then (a known SCUM limitation).
Live markers, location layers and click-to-teleport.
Map tab → "Load players" / "Load vehicles" / "Load flags". The markers then appear on the map.
Show or hide players, vehicles, flags, POIs, names via the checkboxes.
Open the map settings and enable the static layers: bunkers, police stations, gas stations, outposts, caves, resources and more.
One click on the map teleports you there — no coordinate guessing.
Save your own places via "New POI" or store a player/vehicle position directly as a POI.
Select a POI in the list → teleport there. Centrally curated default POIs are already included.
One-click macros for POIs, loadouts and admin commands.
Favorites tab → open one of the tiles POIs, spawn packs or admin commands.
"+ New" → name it. For admin commands compose several command lines (with autocomplete), for spawn packs add items with quantities.
"Trigger" fires all lines of the favorite as one sequence — one click spawns a complete loadout, for example.
Favorites can be exported and imported on another machine (nothing gets overwritten).
Spawn chests, backpacks or lockers filled to the brim.
Sets tab → "+ New" and name it.
Choose the target container via "Select" (e.g. backpack, chest, locker).
Add items with quantities — exactly like in the item spawner (incl. relations and stack sizes).
Set a set count (the set multiplies) or enable "fill container completely" — SEA then spawns as many sets as fit into the container.
"Spawn" sends #SpawnInventoryFullOf — the fully stocked container appears.
Quick access right inside the running game — no alt-tab.
With Ctrl+Shift+A (default, fully configurable) or the "SCUM command popup" button in the title bar the slim window appears on top of the game.
The "Items" and "Map" buttons at the top unfold the full item catalog or the live map on the left.
The collapsible bars favorites, sets, servers and players give quick access — e.g. search a player and teleport "to them" / "→ me" directly.
At the bottom three controls: announcement (#announce), server time (big clock + sliders, #settime) and weather (sunny/stormy, #setweather).
Pin keeps the window on top, compact mode reduces its height. More hotkeys (main window on/off etc.) can be assigned in the settings.
Who belongs to whom — the complete overview.
Squads tab → "Load squads". SEA fetches the complete squad overview via the clipboard.
The squad list on the left (with member count and leader), the selected squad's members incl. rank on the right. Search across squad or player names.
Live status of your servers — and one click to get in.
Servers tab → type the server name into the search box and hit "Search". Adopt the server from the result list — no account and no API key required. Use "Change display name" to give it a short name if you like.
The right sidebar (and the "Servers" section in the floating window) shows the status in three levels, probed directly at the server: green = online, orange = the server is running but currently not listed in the server browser (joining still works), red = unreachable. Plus current player count, rank and the server time — refreshed automatically. Set the interval via the clock icon (0 = off, minimum 15 seconds). The sidebar can be detached into its own window.
The Play button on the server card takes you straight to the server: SEA launches SCUM if it is not running, opens multiplayer, enters the address and connects — works with SCUM set to English or German. If you are already on a server, SEA leaves it first by itself — a server switch is one click.
The same Play button exists in the server list of the floating window. Progress runs there in its own status line with "Cancel" — no need to leave SCUM.
Language, color, hotkeys, paths — and always up to date.
Under Settings → App / Updates switch the language: system language, German or English. The choice applies instantly, no restart — UI, item and command descriptions switch along.
Adjust the accent color via the color picker in the Settings tab — the UI recolors immediately.
Freely assign shortcuts for the floating window, main window on/off and more.
The item/command catalog updates itself online. If needed, the send delays (timings) can be fine-tuned.
When a new version is available, SEA announces it with "What's new" and installs it on click — the helper restarts briefly.
Every SCUM admin command starts with # and is typed into the in-game chat — SEA takes exactly that typing off your hands. The most important ones at a glance, with the click that triggers them:
#SpawnItem — spawn itemsSpawns any item by item ID, optionally with quantity and stack size. Related commands: #SpawnVehicle (vehicles), #SpawnAnimal, #SpawnZombie and #SpawnArmedNPC. In SEA: the "Items" tab — search the item, pick a quantity, click "Spawn". You never have to look up item IDs.
#Teleport / #TeleportTo / #TeleportToMe — teleportTeleports you to coordinates or players, or brings a player to you. In SEA: right-click in the player list ("to me" / "to them") or simply click the map.
#ListPlayers — fetch the player listLists all players with their SteamID. In SEA: the "Players" tab — the list is read in automatically, searchable by name or SteamID.
#SetGodMode — god mode on/offMakes a player invulnerable, e.g. for events or build sessions. In SEA: right-click the player → toggle god mode.
#Kick / #Ban — moderationRemoves or bans troublemakers. In SEA: right-click the player — unbanning included.
#SetFamePoints / #SetCurrencyBalance — set fame & moneySets a player's fame points or account balance (money/gold). In SEA: the "Players" tab — enter the value, hit "Set".
#SetWeather / #SetTime / #Announce — control the serverChange the weather, set the time of day, send an announcement to all players. In SEA: the quick controls at the bottom of the floating window — right in the middle of the game, no console syntax.
All 140+ admin commands — including descriptions in English and German — live in SEA's "Commands" tab: search, fill in the parameters, send. You'll never need a command list to memorize again.
The most common pitfalls — and how to fix them.
Almost always one of these three causes:
1. SCUM runs in true fullscreen — switch to borderless window.
2. Not logged in as admin — perform the admin login in-game.
3. SCUM runs as administrator while SEA does not — happens when the "Run as administrator" compatibility flag is set on SCUM.exe. In that case enable Settings → System → "Start with elevated rights" in SEA.
Start SCUM first. SEA detects the running game automatically and then shows "SCUM found" in the title bar. If SCUM is already running, wait a moment or restart SEA.
SEA reads these lists via the Windows clipboard. Press "List Players" or load the vehicles and wait a moment. Avoid copying anything yourself during that time — it would overwrite the clipboard.
Markers only appear after you pressed "Load players" / "Load vehicles" / "Load flags" at the top. Also check that the matching layer checkboxes are enabled.
That is a SCUM limitation: for offline-parked vehicles the game only provides a database ID instead of a display name. Online owners are resolved by name.
Use borderless windowed mode for SCUM — the always-on-top floating window then stays visible without disturbing fullscreen.
