What does this setting do?
The default of 60 seconds is how long the crate descends under its parachute. During that time it is visible to everyone and marks the landing spot — including for those who missed the announcement.
A longer fall gives latecomers a chance but also makes ambushes easier, because attackers learn earlier exactly where everyone will converge.
