What does this setting do?
With this on, players see their squad mates' names as an overlay. It prevents the most common accident on PvP servers: shooting your own people because camouflage makes them unrecognisable.
Off means telling your own people apart is on you. That raises tension noticeably and is intended on roleplay and hardcore servers, but it costs nerves and regularly causes unintended deaths.
The default is off.
Which value suits my server?
Relaxed PvE
On. Removes a needless source of error for newcomers.
Classic PvP
Off (default). Recognition is part of the game.
Hardcore
Off.
