What does this setting do?

Worth noting: the default is 0.5, not 1.0 — SCUM ships its wildlife already throttled. Setting the value to 1.0 doubles density compared with the shipped state, and that is often the first sensible change when players complain about empty forests.

The value affects the cap, not the distribution: which species lives where stays the same. Individual species have their own prevalence multipliers.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

0.8 to 1.2. Hunting becomes dependable.

Classic PvP

0.5 (default).

Hardcore

0.3 to 0.5. Meat is a matter of luck.

What to watch out for

Works together with the simultaneous animal count

High density achieves nothing while the number of simultaneous animals stays low. Raise both together.

Costs processing time

Every animal is simulated. At very high values with many players it shows in the frame rate.
