What does this setting do?

With this on, the play area is not the whole island but a rectangle you define through centre, width and height. Everything outside becomes off limits.

It is a powerful tool for small communities: on an island of 15 by 15 kilometres, ten players practically never meet. A four-by-four-kilometre area recreates the same island at a density you can experience — with encounters, trade and conflict.

The price is that everything outside falls away: traders, bunkers and rewarding locations that happen to lie outside become unreachable. The area has to be chosen with care.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

Off, unless your community is small and scattered.

Classic PvP

Off, or deliberately small for dense conflict.

Hardcore

Off.

What to watch out for

Existing bases can end up outside

Combined with clearing objects outside the limits, they are deleted at restart. Check where people have built before enabling this.

Important locations can fall outside

Traders, bunkers and event sites are fixed. Your area has to include the ones you need, or whole mechanics go missing.
