What does this setting do?

Not a setting in the real sense but a bookkeeping number: the game uses it to tell which format the file was written in and adds missing keys from an update at startup.

Do not change it by hand. Lower it and SCUM may try to convert settings that are already converted; raise it and new keys from an update may never be added. Both cause faults that are hard to trace, because the file looks unremarkable afterwards.

What to watch out for

It manages migration to new game versions

After a SCUM update the game writes a new number here and adds the new keys. Changing it by hand interrupts that process.
