What does this setting do?
The default of 24 hours is deliberately chosen so that every player experiences the opening regardless of when they play — an evening player gets in just as a morning player does.
Shorten the duration and that shifts: at four hours only those online at the right moment get the bunker. On servers with a fixed group that plays together that is no problem — on open servers spanning time zones it systematically disadvantages part of the player base.
Which value suits my server?
Relaxed PvE
24 to 48. Everyone gets a turn.
Classic PvP
24 (default).
Hardcore
8 to 24. Not there means missing out.
What to watch out for
Short windows disadvantage time zones
With only a few hours of opening, the clock decides who gets bunker loot. On internationally populated servers a long duration pays off.
