What does this setting do?

Lets players start votes — most often about skipping the night. Three further values govern how a vote runs: its duration, the required turnout and the required share of yes votes.

Voting is a double-edged tool. It gives the community a say and solves the problem that nobody enjoys playing in the dark. At the same time it devalues exactly the settings you chose as an operator — if the night is regularly voted away, nighttime darkness is irrelevant.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

On. The community decides about its own evening.

Classic PvP

Off. Night is a tactical asset.

Hardcore

Off.

What to watch out for

A handful of active players is enough

With a low turnout threshold, three players on a server of thirty can change the time of day. If you allow voting, set the required turnout deliberately.
