Strength of lock protection
Multiplier on how much protection locks give against damage.
scum.LockProtectionDamageMultiplier=1.000000
What does this setting do?
Locks in SCUM are more than a door bar: they lend the secured element resistance to damage. This multiplier sets how much. A higher value makes locked doors and crates harder to break, a lower one faster.
That makes this the fine adjustment for raid duration. Attacking a base means, in practice, explosives or tools against locks and walls. Want raids shorter and more frequent? Lower it. Want an attack to require preparation and materials? Raise it.
It does not replace raid protection. Whether attacks are allowed at all is governed by the protection type; this value only decides how long they take.
Which value suits my server?
1.5 and up. Break-ins become unattractive.
1.0.
0.75. A well-prepared attacker gets through.
What to watch out for
Push protection too far and no available explosive suffices. Raids then effectively never happen even though raid times allow them — a silent rule change that breeds confusion.
