Damage between players
Multiplier on all damage players deal to each other.
scum.HumanToHumanDamageMultiplier=1.000000
What does this setting do?
This value affects every kind of player damage — firearms, melee, thrown weapons, explosives. It is the base multiplier on top of which the three more specific values for armed melee, unarmed melee and throwing attacks apply.
At 1.0 the game default holds, where an aimed rifle shot is lethal. A lower value stretches firefights and shifts the advantage to whoever has more ammunition and better cover. A higher value makes the first hit decisive — rewarding ambushes and punishing anything that looks like movement.
Important for PvE servers: this only covers player against player. Damage against puppets, animals and NPCs has its own settings.
Which value suits my server?
0.2 to 0.5 where PvP is possible but unwanted.
1.0. Anything else distorts the balance between weapons.
1.0. No need to go higher — lethal is lethal.
What to watch out for
At 0 players deal no damage but can still tie each other up, rob and lure each other into danger. To genuinely rule out PvP, combine this with sector rules and the playstyle declaration.
This multiplier and the armed-melee one stack. Both at 2.0 gives quadruple melee damage — a common arithmetic mistake.
