What does this setting do?

The default of 180 days is half a year. Anyone who has not logged in that long is removed at the next server start — provided deletion of inactive players is enabled.

Half a year is deliberately long: SCUM players return in waves, usually after major updates. Shorten the period to a few weeks and you delete exactly the people who meant to come back after the next patch.

What to watch out for

Returners come back after updates

Most inactive players look in again after the next big SCUM update. A period under 90 days destroys their progress shortly beforehand.
