What does this setting do?

At startup the server clears player data unused for longer than the configured period. That is necessary: the database grows with every character, base and vehicle, and a server running for years otherwise becomes noticeably slow.

What is deleted is not just the record but the character and everything attached to it. Return after a year and you start over — and your base is gone.

The default is on, with a 180-day period. That is generous and well chosen.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

On, with a generous period.

Classic PvP

On.

Hardcore

On.

What to watch out for

Deletes the character, not just the record

The player's character, progress and eventually orphaned bases go with it. A short period can catch regulars returning from holiday.

Only runs at server start

The cleanup happens during startup. On a server that has not restarted for months, nothing happens.
