What does this setting do?

This route puts a fallen player back into the game right next to a surviving squad mate. It is allowed by default and costs gold.

Of all four routes it has the largest influence on group combat. As long as one member survives, the whole group can return – a firefight is only decided once everybody has actually fallen. That shifts the balance clearly towards larger squads and against solo players, who do not have this route at all.

On PvE servers that is not a problem but an advantage: groups stay together instead of scattering across half the island after every accident.

On PvP servers it pays to think about the cooldown and the price alongside it. A short interval and a low price make large squads practically unbeatable; a noticeable cooldown keeps the advantage without making it crushing.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

On. Groups should be able to stay together.

Classic PvP

On, with a cooldown and a price that stings.

Hardcore

Off. Fall and you are out of the fight.

What to watch out for

It disadvantages solo players

Playing alone means not having this route. On servers with many solo players this is the switch that generates the most resentment.

It decides group fights

While one member lives the fight is not over. If you want short engagements, you need a noticeable cooldown here.
