What does this setting do?

Sector respawn lets a player choose which quadrant of the map they come back in after dying. It is allowed by default and costs 1000 money out of the box.

Of the four ways back into the game this is the most important one for flow. Without it you land somewhere random after every death and may walk twenty minutes just to get back where you were. With it you stay in the area you are actually playing in.

Turning it off is a deliberate harshness decision. It makes every death expensive – not in gear but in time – and makes players proceed more carefully. On servers that want to encourage movement and exploration that makes real sense.

What matters is not closing all four routes at once. Leave only the random location and suicide and respawning becomes a lottery – which mostly drives casual players away.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

On. Getting back should not cost half a session.

Classic PvP

On. Otherwise fights develop that the loser can no longer rejoin.

Hardcore

Off. Every death really sets you back.

What to watch out for

Do not close all routes at once

Disabling sector, shelter and squad together leaves only the random location. Players read that as a bug.

The price lives elsewhere

This switch only knows on and off. What respawning costs and how long it is locked lives on the overview page for the four routes.
