What does this setting do?

SCUM penalises players who leave a squad in order to discourage squad hopping — constantly switching groups to harvest gear or intelligence. This value sets the threshold: up to this member count leaving is free, above it the money penalty and probation apply.

The default of 2 means leaving a pair costs nothing, while leaving anything larger costs money. That protects established groups from infiltration but also makes experimenting expensive — particularly for new players who do not yet know where they fit.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

4 to 6. Let players find out where they belong.

Classic PvP

2 (default). Infiltration should cost.

Hardcore

2.

What to watch out for

Only works together with the penalty values

The threshold alone penalises nobody. How harsh it gets depends on the money penalty per former member and the probation duration.
