Probation after switching squads
Probation period after switching squads, in real days per member of the squad you left.
scum.RTSquadProbationDuration=1.000000
What does this setting do?
Alongside the money penalty there is a probation period, and this value sets its length: that many days per member of the squad you left. At 1.0 and a four-person squad left behind, that is four days during which no new squad may be joined.
Probation is the more effective of the two penalties because money cannot buy it off. It targets exactly one thing: players who infiltrate a squad, strip its base and move on. For everyone else it is mostly an obstacle.
What matters is which days are meant: real ones. The RT at the start of the key stands for real time, and the developer description speaks of days. On a server with accelerated island time that is a large difference – at the default of 3.84 a game day passes in a good six real hours, while the probation period runs by the clock on the wall. Four days of probation are four days, not four game days.
Which value suits my server?
0 to 0.5. Switching stays possible.
1.0 (default).
1.0 to 2.0.
What to watch out for
Because the period grows with every former member, a ten-person squad at 1.0 already means ten days. Pick a smaller value on servers with large groups.
The RT in the key name stands for real time. Raising your time multiplier does not shorten the probation period – it stays exactly as long.
