What does this setting do?

Anyone leaving a squad who then wants to found or join another pays this amount for every member of their previous squad. At a value of 1000 and a six-person squad left behind, that is 6000 — the penalty scales with the size of the group you came from.

The default of 0 disables the money penalty, leaving only probation as a brake. On servers with settled group structures an amount makes sense, because it turns switching into a real decision. On servers with heavy inflow it is risky: new players often land in the wrong group first and are then left broke.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

0. No reason to penalise playing together.

Classic PvP

500 to 2000, depending on how wealthy your server is.

Hardcore

2000 to 5000.

What to watch out for

Hits the poor harder than the rich

For an established group the amount is pocket change; for a newcomer it is half their possessions. If you set this high, raise the penalty-free threshold with it.

Payable in cash or gold

With neither at hand the switch is simply impossible. On servers with a weak economy that can lock players into a squad they want to leave.
