What does this setting do?

Newly built bases are especially fragile: no double walls yet, no turrets and no materials stocked for repairs. This value gives them a grace period.

It works together with the siege's end threshold. For a freshly built base that threshold is lowered – so the siege stops sooner. Over the span given here in days the reduction grows back until the full value applies.

The allowed range is 0 to 30 days; the default of -1 means “game default” as usual. How much the threshold is lowered by lives in its own value – without which this span has no effect. The two always belong together.

In practice this is one of the friendliest settings in the whole of base building: it protects newcomers and returning players without letting established bases off any easier.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

3 to 7 days. A week is enough to make a base defensible.

Classic PvP

-1 or 3 days.

Hardcore

0 to 1 day. If you build, build properly straight away.

What to watch out for

Useless without the maximum reduction

This span only describes how long the reduction takes to grow back. How large it is at all lives in its own value.

Stated in days, not hours

The range runs from 0 to 30. A 24 here means 24 days, not one day.
