Extra elements per additional squad member
For every member beyond the first, the squad gains additional base elements.
scum.ExtraElementsPerFlagForAdditionalSquadMember=25
What does this setting do?
This number rewards groups. For every squad member beyond the first, the flag's element limit grows by this amount – 25 by default.
The arithmetic is simple and routinely underestimated. With the default of 100 base elements, a squad of five may already place 200 elements, and a squad of ten 325. Raise the base limit to 250 and leave this at 25 and a large squad ends up with 475 elements inside a single flag area.
That is why this value always belongs next to the base limit. If you allow large squads, set this on the low side – otherwise you get exactly the fortresses that drive small groups off a server.
Read the other way round, it is a good tool when you want to encourage cooperation: a generous number makes building together visibly more rewarding than five separate huts.
Which value suits my server?
25 to 40. Building together should pay off.
25 (default). Larger groups get more, but not without end.
10 to 15. A big squad already has the advantage of numbers; it does not need floor space too.
What to watch out for
The value is multiplied by squad size. On a server with squads of ten, raising it by 10 really means raising the cap by 90 elements.
How many members are possible at all depends on intelligence levels. When doing this maths, check what squad size is actually reachable on your server.
