How long loot stays put
Multiplier on the time after which a spawn point withdraws its contents and rolls again.
scum.SpawnerExpirationTimeMultiplier=1.000000
What does this setting do?
A spawn point does not keep its contents forever. After a given time they disappear and it is restocked. This multiplier lengthens or shortens that time.
The value therefore answers a question that shapes playstyle: is it worth searching the same town twice? With short times, yes — loot returns promptly, towns stay productive, players move within a small area. With long times, no — you have to move on, and the map gets used as a whole.
Together with loot probability this produces the server's felt level of supply. Short expiry with high probability is the most generous combination; the reverse is the leanest.
Which value suits my server?
1.0 to 1.5.
1.0 (default).
0.5 to 1.0. Arrive late and there is nothing left.
What to watch out for
When loot returns every few minutes, players run in circles instead of exploring. It feels generous at first and makes the server dull fast.
