Destroyed sentries are replaced
Whether the dropship delivers new guard installations to restricted zones and military areas after old ones are destroyed.
scum.EnableSentryRespawning=True
What does this setting do?
Restricted zones, military grounds and key locations across the map are guarded by sentries – automated installations that make access expensive. Destroy them and the dropship brings replacements. This switch keeps that resupply in force; it is on by default.
Turning it off has a consequence you only see after weeks: the dangerous places on the map become permanently harmless. Every destroyed sentry stays destroyed, and after a few weeks every military area is an ordinary loot location with no resistance. It is a creeping process nobody notices while it happens – and one that cannot be undone without a wipe.
So the switch belongs on, unless that is exactly what you want: a map that gets conquered over time and loses its threat. On servers with a settled community and long seasons that can be an appealing narrative.
To keep the sentries but defuse them, the damage values serve you better than this switch.
Which value suits my server?
On. Otherwise restricted zones lose all appeal over time.
On.
On.
What to watch out for
An off goes unnoticed for weeks, and then half the map is disarmed. Without a wipe it cannot be walked back.
The resupply arrives by air. If you have sharply reduced dropship frequency, replacements arrive correspondingly rarely.
