What does this setting do?
Without this switch the maximum ping value does nothing — anyone can connect however poor their connection. That is the classic troubleshooting case: the ping limit is set but has no effect, because the check is off.
Enabled, the check works in two stages: at login and continuously thereafter. How many consecutive high readings it takes before someone is dropped is governed by its own value.
