What does this setting do?

At 0.5 the loss is five times that of an ordinary death — half your accumulated fame. SCUM thereby makes a clear statement: being killed by another player is the most expensive way to die.

Together with the killer's reward this creates a transfer: fame moves from victim to attacker. On PvE servers, where PvP is more accident than intent, such a high value is hard to justify.

What to watch out for

Amplifies power imbalances

A strong group repeatedly killing the same players pushes their fame down permanently and strips them of respawn options too. On small servers that can drive people away.
