What does this setting do?
Together with sunset, this value defines what share of the day is daylight. It is the finer lever compared to time speed: to shorten nights only, pull sunrise earlier and push sunset later rather than accelerating time as a whole.
With the defaults of 06:00:00 for sunrise and 21:00:00 for sunset, 15 of the 24 island hours are daylight — around 62 percent.
Which value suits my server?
Relaxed PvE
05:00:00 — a longer daylight phase without speeding up the day.
Classic PvP
06:00:00 (default).
Hardcore
07:30:00 — short days, long nights.
What to watch out for
Transitions take time
Dawn happens around this time, not after it. Light starts creeping in before the sunrise you set.
