What does this setting do?

By default a flag has to be placed on the ground. This switch allows putting it on your own base elements too – a foundation, a platform, a first-floor deck.

It sounds like a detail and is in truth a decision about raiding. A flag on the ground is reachable for attackers: you have to fight your way to it in order to take the base. A flag on a platform on the third floor, surrounded by walls, is the exact opposite – it can be hidden and bricked in.

On PvP servers that is the reason to leave this off. Takeovers then stay a problem you can solve, rather than a hunt for the hidden flag.

On building and roleplay servers it is handy. There people want multi-storey houses, and a flag in the cellar or the courtyard is simply the tidier solution.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

On. On building servers it is mostly a matter of tidiness.

Classic PvP

Off. The flag has to stay reachable or takeovers are pointless.

Hardcore

Off. Holding a base means holding the flag.

What to watch out for

It changes the raid balance

Hidden and bricked-in flags make takeovers practically impossible. On PvP servers that is the side effect that matters.

Existing flags stay put

Switching it off relocates nothing. Whatever is up there stays up there until the owner moves it.
