Harvest window for plants
Multiplier on the time a ripe plant keeps offering its produce.
scum.PlantHarvestExamineTimeMultiplier=1.000000
What does this setting do?
A fully grown plant does not hold its harvest indefinitely. Once examined, a window opens in which the produce can be collected – after that the rest spoils. This multiplier stretches or shortens that window.
What matters is what the value does not do: it does not change growth. How long a tomato takes to ripen is not set here. It only affects the time after ripeness during which you can still take something.
In practice it addresses a common annoyance: players plant, go out on a run and come back to find the harvest already spoiled. A multiplier of 2.0 doubles the window and makes gardening worthwhile for casual players in the first place.
Low values belong on servers where farming should be a deliberate occupation: sow it and be there to reap it.
Which value suits my server?
1.0 to 2.0. Gardening should pay off for people who do not play daily.
1.0 (default).
0.5 to 0.75. Sow it and reap it yourself.
What to watch out for
The value only affects the window after ripeness. For faster harvests, look at how fast world time passes.
