What does this setting do?

Many doors, cabinets and gates on the island carry world locks – the rusty locks that were there from the start and were not placed by players. This switch records who picks them. It is off by default.

For most servers this is mainly an investigative aid. When someone complains about cleared-out locations, or there is a suspicion that somebody is using unauthorised tools, this log shows how many locks were opened in what time. Suspiciously fast sequences are a clear signal.

Worth being precise about: this is not about the locks players attach to their own bases and chests. Raids on player bases appear in other logs.

The cost is small but not zero: on a busy server a lot of picking happens and the log grows accordingly. If you enable it, keep an eye on your log files.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

On. Costs little and helps with follow-up questions.

Classic PvP

On. When tooling is suspected it is the quickest source.

Hardcore

On.

What to watch out for

World locks only

Player locks on bases and chests do not appear in this log. Other files cover raids.

Grows quickly on large servers

A lot of picking happens. With a full map and many players it is worth watching the size of your log files.
