What does this setting do?

This switch creates a small area at the spot where an enemy fell in which no new one is spawned for a while. It is off by default.

It solves a very specific annoyance: a successor appearing right where you just killed somebody, often while you are still collecting the loot. Enabled, it prevents exactly that.

That makes it one of the most rewarding switches for PvE and building servers: it makes post-fight looting predictable without lowering enemy counts overall. The world stays populated, just not directly behind your back.

On PvP servers it cuts both ways. The prevention area also benefits whoever just won: they can loot in peace while an attacker gets no reinforcements for cover. If you want a contested place to stay contested, leave it off.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

On. You should be able to loot after a fight.

Classic PvP

Off (default). A contested place should stay restless.

Hardcore

Off.

What to watch out for

It favours the winner

The prevention area appears where somebody won. On PvP servers that hands them a quiet window.

No substitute for fewer enemies

To calm the island overall, work on the amounts and timings. This switch only acts locally.
