Dropship attacks on powerful bases
Enables the heaviest tier of base siege: an attack from the air.
scum.EnableDropshipBaseBuildingEncounter=False
What does this setting do?
This switch lets the game send a dropship against especially powerful bases. It is off by default, and for good reason: the attack comes from above and therefore hits the side hardly anyone builds up.
Turning it on changes the building culture on your server. Bases that were sufficient until now – four strong walls, open or lightly covered on top – suddenly become vulnerable, and the contents inside are unprotected. That is a legitimate challenge for a server meant to get more demanding, but it is not a fine adjustment; it is an announcement.
Practical advice: if you enable it, say so in advance, give players a few days to reinforce, and deliberately set the dropship's damage value low the first time round. You can always raise it later.
The switch sits above the general siege but does not replace it. The element thresholds and the trigger chance still apply.
Which value suits my server?
Off. Mandatory roofs are poor advertising for a building server.
Off, or with a low damage value. The appeal is large; so are the complaints.
On. Build a fortress and you have to cover it from above too.
What to watch out for
Most bases are weakest on top. Enabling this without warning costs players their stashes.
How much the dropship destroys lives in a separate setting. Set it in the same move.
