What does this setting do?

Once a base has grown large enough, the game can start a siege: sentries move in and attack the compound. This value is the probability in percent that it actually happens.

The default -1 does not mean zero but “use the game's default”. If you want a number you can rely on, write it out – and to get rid of sieges altogether, set 0.

This is the value to reach for first, because it decides the event as a whole. Only once it should happen is it worth tuning the damage values. Conversely there is no point setting all three weapon multipliers to 0 when a 0 here saves the whole effort.

Whether the check runs at all depends on element count: a base has to reach a minimum size before it counts as a target. Small huts are therefore never besieged, however high this value stands.

Which value suits my server?

Relaxed PvE

0 to 25. Appealing as a rare event, not as a permanent state.

Classic PvP

-1 or 50. Large bases should cost attention.

Hardcore

75 to 100. Build big and you get attacked.

What to watch out for

-1 is not 0

The default -1 means “game default”, not “off”. To disable sieges you have to enter 0.

The value does not decide alone

Without the minimum element count no check runs at all. Small bases stay untouched even at 100.
